Kei Matsukata Nguyen
Originally from Tokyo and now based in Los Angeles, Kei has loved arts and crafts since she was a kid. With a background in fine arts, art therapy, and social work, she has a deep appreciation for art's ability to heal one's soul and challenge inhibition. A practiced quilter and visual artist, Kei added clay to her creative mix in 2022, drawn to how it helps her let go of perfectionism. She finds inspiration in the masters of the Japanese Mingei Movement as well as today’s American quilters. Kei currently creates her ceramic art alongside other artists at a community studio, Claytivity, located in Frogtown, Los Angeles.
